Dr. Maria Montessori was born on 31st August,1870 at Chiaravalle in the province of Ancona, Italy. She was a trained psychologist, gynaecologist and educationist.

The importance of early childhood education in the Indian contest where 40% of the population live below the poverty line,  60% are illiterate and one fifth of the population is in the age group of 0-6 year hardly need any emphasis. Early childhood has assumed added importance in the context of elementary education.


To a child, during the process of growing up everything appears as a mystery. His curiosity to know everything of this unknown world increases step by step. It is our primary responsibility to encourage the child for stepping into this word of knowledge and develops an attitude of learning, failing which psychological, moral and social development not takes place properly in the child.
